Chapman Partnership recognized for its financial health, accountability and transparency for the 6th year in a row

November 10, 2016

MIAMI (Nov. 10, 2016) – Chapman Partnership’s strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency have earned it a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator.

This is the 6th time that Chapman Partnership has earned this top distinction. The 4-star rating is the highest possible rating, indicating that Chapman Partnership adheres to sector best practices and executes its mission in a financially efficient way. Attaining a 4-star rating verifies that the organization exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities. Only 4% of the charities evaluated have received at least 6 consecutive 4-star evaluations.

“Chapman Partnership’s exceptional 4-star rating sets it apart from its peers and demonstrates its trustworthiness to the public,” according to Michael Thatcher, president & CEO of Charity Navigator. “Only a quarter of charities rated by Charity Navigator receive the distinction of our 4-star rating and adds Chapman to a preeminent group of charities working to overcome our world’s most pressing challenges. Based on its 4-star rating, people can trust that their donations are going to a financially responsible and ethical charity when they decide to support Chapman Partnership.”

Chapman Partnership spends 84 percent of its income on programs for the 800 homeless men, women and children residing in their two centers at any given point in time. Administrative and fundraising expenses account for only 16 percent of its income.

“This award is a testament to the work we are doing at Chapman Partnership,” said H. Daniel Vincent, president and CEO of Chapman Partnership. “Donors and volunteers are the backbone of our organization, and it is with great pride that we are able to show them that their contributions are making a difference. We thank them for their trust and assure them that Chapman is putting their donation dollars to good use.”

Since 2002, using objective analysis, Charity Navigator has awarded only the most fiscally responsible organizations a 4-star rating. In 2011, Charity Navigator added 17 metrics, focused on governance and ethical practices as well as measures of openness, to its ratings methodology. These Accountability & Transparency metrics, which account for 50 percent of a charity’s overall rating, reveal which charities operate in accordance with industry best practices and whether they are open with their donors and stakeholders.
