CHAPMAN PARTNERSHIP ANNOUNCES FIRST ANNUAL WOMEN’S BUSINESS MAKEOVER WORKSHOP EMPOWERING WOMEN TO RE-ENTER THE WORKFORCE WITH CONFIDENCE AND STYLE

September 18, 2013

MIAMI, FL – Tuesday, August 27th, 2013 –  Everyone deserves a chance to make a positive first impression, especially to a potential employer. On September 14th 2013, fashion stylists from the Metropolitan International Fashion Week in Miami (MMIFW), hairstylist from Kaizen Beauty Academy, makeup artist from Kiss-N-Tell Pro Cosmetics, and members of the Perry Ellis clothing company will team up with the Chapman Partnership to hold an event to benefit their female residents to reenter the workforce with professional makeovers. The Women’s Business Makeover is sponsored and organized by Maxine Viktor from Metropolitan International Fashion Week. Business Makeover will take place at Chapman Partnership’s North Center at 1550 North Miami Avenue, Miami, Fl 33136.

“Philip Stienstra and I hope to assist Chapman Partnership as it empowers women to build a positive future.  By teaching the women to present themselves professionally in a work environment we help them to become self-sufficient and stable, therefore allowing them to provide a better quality of life for themselves and their families. We are overwhelmed and grateful for the help and support of our sponsors and the community,” said Maxine Viktor, Co-Founder, the Metropolitan International Fashion Week.

Sponsors are donating their time, services and goods such as business clothes, make-up and stylist kits to this interactive Business Makeover workshop. Residents will get the advice of a professional stylist who will teach them how to mix and match outfits for work.

From now until September 11, 2013, we are collecting the following items to help assist the residents of the Chapman Partnership as they prepare for job interviews and becoming a member of the workforce.

·       New, unused makeup still in packaging (mascara, lipstick, etc) – especially  makeup for women with medium to dark complexions

·       New, unused toiletries still in packaging (deodorant, shaving supplies, etc)

·       New, unused grooming products still in packaging (hairspray, gel, hair ties, etc)

·       New, unused Women & Men’s undergarments still in packaging (underwear, socks, bras)

·       New or gently used Women & Men’s work clothes & suites

·       New or gently used belts, shoes, accessories, etc

“As we know, the first impression you make on a potential employer is the most important one and this event with support of the sponsors will help empower our female residents rebuild their confidence to reenter the workforce,” said Holly Woodbury, Vice President, Development, and Chapman Partnership. “In addition to proper workplace attire Chapman Partnership provides our residents job training and other skills to help ensure their long-term success.”

Event Sponsors include: Kaizen Beauty Academy, Kiss & Tell Pro Cosmetics, Fashify, Stiletto Kat, Le Royal Style, Emporium, Perry Ellis, Walgreens, and The Metropolitan International Fashion Week.

“Collectively the sponsors will work one-on-one with the female residents to teach them the essential skills in preparing for job interviews and workforce employment skills by showing them how to select and put together work appropriate outfits from the clothing donated by the Perry Ellis Clothing Company; and how to appropriately do their hair and makeup for work while using the minimal basic products,” added Viktor.
